Feather Accessory

My post today is about feather hair accessories. I got the main inspiration for the feather hair accessory from the music video for 'I hate this part' by the Pussycat Dolls which I have featured in a post before. I have made my own version which I wore a lot in the summer months.

What you will need to make the feather hair accessory:
  • Feathers! Any type of feathers but preferably large ones and different to your hair colour!
  • A chain the length of your hair, this could be one recycled from an old necklace which is what I chose.
  • little clasps as shown in the close up image, these cost me £1 from a sewing shop for 10 (They really don't break the bank!)
  • A hair grip or clip, I chose a grip that slotted nicely into the last link on the chain

All you have to do is fasten the small clasps to the feathers by bending in the sides. Then slightly open one of the links (where you want the feather) on the chain and slot the clasp into the link and close again.
After this you can slot a grip into the last link on the chain or use a large link to fasten a clip to the chain either works fine.
And that's it! now you can grip it to your hair underneath behind your ear so that it will hang down and show like Nicole Scherzinger's.

Necklace Collar

My Collar

This is my second post dedicated to collars however this time its about necklace collars. They have been around for a long time now however I think they look great and therefore deserve a post. The main idea behind having a collar necklace is the ability to wear it with any piece of clothing. This is great for making any plain item look interesting and unique. I think collars can transform an outfit, especially with one that is embellished such as the one I have. They are also often quite cheap and therefore you can buy several and mix and match with outfits.

The one above is my version which came from Dorothy Perkins. Its great mainly because it can be worn with anything! Here I'm wearing it with a dress. As its white it can be worn with most colours as well.
You can pick up several versions on the high street to suit any style.

Valentine's Day Nails

Glittery Nails in the sunlight
Two of my favourite combinations
Today I'm doing a post on nails, Valentine's Day nails to be exact.
Glitter nails to me have always been very bold and out there, however this look is much softer and the glitter really only appears in the sunlight. I think its great for a casual occasion as well as an evening look.
The two combinations I would recommend is either the light nude pink with fine gold glitter, which is fantastic for valentine's day. The other is dark grey with fine dark purple glitter which is great for evening or casual as again the glitter only really shows in the sunlight.
As my blog at the moment is dominated by pictures of celebrities I want to add more of my own ideas and photos. You will therefore be seeing more of my own images which I will now add a watermark to.
Thank you for looking!

The Fedora

Millie Mackintosh mixing felt with faux fur. (I hope)
Kate Moss showing how even with office wear this can be stylish!
I'm back!! Its nearly been a year since my last post, I really have abandoned my blog! I'm glad to be back however and my first post for this year is on the fedora hat.
I've always liked the look of these on others but never really took to trying one on until only the other day. I have to say I really liked the way it looked and was surprised! I've always had the misconception that u wear a hat either if its really hot, or really cold! With these though they really do suit any occasion and therefore I think they are great! Lizzie Olsen shows this trend (long-running trend) in all its glory through the seasons.
Auburn reds, camels and blacks/greys looked best to me personally however they can be in any colours and suit most outfits.
