Nail art wonder!

I have never had the best nails, they always crack at the ends, they have some ridges and they never seem to grow! Ive tried to have more calcium etc this all fails! I therefore find the best way to deal with this is to hide it with delightful nail polishes and nail art! Therefore I am going to share some nail art trends that you could try yourself or maybe take to a salon for inspiration.
Giles SS 2011 pastel coloured nails with eyes! This could be achieved at home simply paint in various
pastel colours and add two white dots and two black to make eyes!
This is the latest craze, to have various coloured, what look to be hundreds and thousands, on your nails and lips!
I looked at this picture and I loved it straight away this one would be tricky however maybe a salon job!

Autuminal makeup

I have wrote a lot about Autumn in the most recent posts I have wrote, and I know there havn't been too many recently due to me being busier than usual, however I will try my hardest to write more!
Autumn is such a great time for a new colour scheme, new hair and new beauty regiemes, afterall your skin and face are tested at this time of year.
This post therefore is one dedicated to new makeup looks which look especially great in the winter months. Most peoples peception of this however is that the new season means you have to wear browns and blacks and that the bright colours of Spring and Summer are long gone, this doesnt have to be the case.
The best colours for Autumn this year are berry, gold and green. They are still autuminal but they are definately not boring!

Florence Welch showing true sparkle here with gold eyeshadow both above and below her eyes!
I like the colour itensity here, this could easily be tamed down for everyday.
Heres a look for everyone simple eyes with lots of mascara and a berry lip toned from outside in to give real depth. This can easily be achieved by adding layers of lipstick and blotting with tissue.

A walk down a country track!

One of the biggest trends this Autumn/Winter is the Heritage trend. The Heritage trend is all about the countryside and horse riding gear. Its a trend based on urban colours of brown, green and berry.
The heritage trend is also about quilted jackets, horse riding boots and wooly knits. The prints to match the trend are dogtooth and tweed, a proper English trend!
I have found a real mix of good heritage buys from Matalan. They have everything covered from cheap quilted jackets, to a whole range of boots and brilliant accesaries all for a great price! From www.matalan.co.uk
I have made my own moodboard to show all of the great buys, hope you enjoy!

Louis Vuitton A/W 2012

The recent look from Louis Vuitton has caught my eye for its originality and kooky factor! The look is about eccentric oversized hats, round google eyed glasses and excessive patterns. The colour scheme seems to be an array of black, plum and yellow/orange, this is a very autuminal choice of colours and looks great!
The catwalk show was also excessive and eccentric as it featured a large train! The whole look to me seemed to be influenced by Old England with the old steam train and the choice of hats and shoes. A lot doesnt need to be said for this look however as seeing is believing!

Autumn is coming!

I have just got back from holiday in sunny Marbella and I have had quite a shock coming back to England as the rubbish weather seems to be continueing! This therefore means I am already thinking about buying more knits and autumn clothing if not for autumn but for now!
One staple item for the much colder days in autumn has to be a furry gilet. When I say furry gilet I definately mean faux fur! There are already some popping up around the high street which I have liked, I found one I really liked in Primark it came in grey and brown and was £16 it looked really expensive and looked really nice!
This is another one that I really like it is from River Island but I found it on ASOS.com. I especially like the length and colour of this one and the fact it has a hood. I like it teamed with the boots on the last picture.

Another staple is the knitted cardigan this is essential also for the later part of the autumn and winter months, it goes with near enough anything and there are so many to choose from accross the highstreet. Here are some I have found.I especially love the Ostritch affect one from Next.co.uk as it looks very expensive! The bobble knitted cardigan is from Matalan and also looks very chic and very cute.

Holiday style - airport to evening!

Its the holiday season! I have rustled up pictures of inspiring outfits to help kick start your holiday season. Everyone wants to look their best on holiday and this doesn't exclude the flight. I have found the best airport styles, beach wear and evening outfits.
I always try to plan out what I will wear each day, this makes your packing choices easier and you are then not packing a load of random pieces that do not go together!

1.) The airport style, the trickiest of all three occasions, the outfit has to be practical yet you want to be stylish and comfortable. This is especially true if you are flying from a cold climate to a hot one. The best way to deal with this would be to dress in layers that you can remove when you get to the other side.

Sienna Miller
Fearne Cotton and Mary-Kate Olsen
Ashley Olsen
What possibly NOT to wear!! This is the wrong type of runway!

2.) What to wear at the beach! mainly a bikini (if your a women of course) and a kaftan would be good.
Blake Liveley
Blake Liveley ... again!
Whitney Port

3.) Now finaly what to wear at nightime. This is basically a summer dress and some heels! Add jewellery for some extra sparkle and a nice bag. A maxi dress is always a showstopper so invest in one of these!

St Tropez Gradual tan

I bought the most recent ELLE magazine and discovered the free St Tropez gradual body tan. I had never actually used tan before I thought it was a guranteed way to make you as orange as an oompa Loompa, however this tan is a body moisturiser and is so natural looking. I have the dark/medium one therefore I didnt have to use a lot to get a nice browning tan (im quite pale). You simply rub it in like a moisturiser making sure you cover all the areas, however mine hasnt streaked at all and I had never applied tan before! It doesnt show untill a few hours after so its a pleasent suprise when you wake up! As its gradual you can start off with a little and build it up to the desired colour therefore you wont suddenly go bright orange!I will definately buy a bigger bottle!

The new clear trend

The newest trend to hit both designer and high street stores is the use of plastic to make see-through products. This has been mostly relevant with accessories, however other pieces like clear coats have been made.
I have found a selection of on trend pieces I have found off of the English High street. This includes products mainly from River Island. I especially like the green shoes, and the plastic mac would be great for showing off clothes underneath even when its raining! (This happens a lot in England).

French Plait = great waves!

I have previously done a post on french plaits/ braids because I had only just discovered how to do them at the time (If you want to know how to do them please view this post). At the time I wanted to see if they created waves but I was too scared to experiment in case my hair came out like a lions mane rather than the beachy waves I was really hoping for, therefore I stuck to two simple braids.
Recently however I tried it out and its great!! I did one French braid down the middle of my head rather than two either side. I slept on it ( I dont use heat on my hair thats why I do not use curlers) and it came out really really good it wasnt quite as curly as I had hoped the first time, therefore I made the plait tighter and made it damper the next time I tried and now I use this method all the time! I love it.
I think it gives beachy undone waves, where as two french braids either side of the head would look much curlier.
The curls really will depend on your hair type, mines completely straight so they do tend to be loose but it seems really curly to me as im so used to it being straight. If however you have thicker curly hair it will hold the curls much better and be tighter.

Your curls with probably look similar to this.
This is looser messier curls.
They will look more like this at the end of the day without
hairspray and if you have straight hair.
This still looks really pretty though.

Lip and Cheek stain - bright blusher

One of the best ways to compliment a pale complextion is with pink blusher, it adds a flush in the cheeks and this can help to create a youthful appearance.
Blusher is nothing new it has been used for centuries, however the product that I have been using to give me pink cheeks is the Lip and Cheek Stain by The Body Shop.I have been using the number 02 version which is shiner than the 01 version and a different colour, it has a bronze hint. Only a couple of days ago however I realised Marie Claire are giving away both of these products and I jumped at the chance to get the other version ( 01) so I got a great product and a great magazine for £3.70 - bargain!!!
The cheek stain is great in both forms its stays on throughout the day, unlike a powder formula.

A great side view - also Badgley Mischa.

Prada Jewellery 2012

The new prada range of clothes and accessaries has been based on 1950's Americano' this therefore means that they have chosen bright vibrant colours, muscle car patterns and luxurious jewel's.
The jewellery has caught my eye as well as the car shoes (which I have wrote about on a previous post). The Jewellery has red, green or black enamel roses and a large amount of faux diamonds. They are show-stoppers and I think most people would agree they are gorgeous. They all look very expensive too though, which they are! The cheapest (of the items shown) is £870 and this is a lot of money considering they are only brass and not even real silver! They are however very interesting pieces, I suspect that the High street will soon be making copies of these that will be very convincing, I shall therefore be keeping my eye on highstreet jewellery in recent months.
The look however of these can be created with any jewellery that has a lot of faux diamonds and colour, it shall give the same 50's look.

Five British festival looks

As it is St George's day and not too far from the summer and the festival season, I decided to do a post on festival looks from British/English celebrities like Alexa Chung and Emma Watson.
They are all different outfits that could be worn to a festival, ranging from a more minimalistic looks to the plain bizare! They are all great celebrity looks, although I am pretty sure that the style of other people (not celebrity) would be just as influencial as well and I would like to post them however I can't show these!
Emma Watson in an unusual corset top.
Another Emma Watson look, I love her messy hair and white shirt here.
Karen Gillan in a very long coat and great hair!
Alexa Chung in a green, country jacket
Florence Welch in leaopard print and a very interesting white shirt.
I hope you enjoy looking at these whether you are going to a festival or not, I think some could be worn for casual wear as well.
